Heartbreaking : Police Apprehended Woman Who Injured Her 12-Years old Maid With Hot pressing iron For breaking a plate (photos)


A woman has been arrested for allegedly dousing her 10-year-old maid with hot water mixed with pepper.

 

The Abia State Police Command confirmed the arrest of Mrs. Zazi David for pouring hot water on the girl, an orphan, because she broke a plate.



The command’s spokesperson, Geoffrey Ogbonna, said the suspect also allegedly forced the orphan girl, identified as Ifunanya, to drink the hot, peppery mixture in their apartment located at a housing estate in Umuahia, Abia State.



According to reports, the suspect had abused the girl on several occasions, leaving her with visible cane and burn marks on her body.



On one occasion, she is said to have taken the girl to church with burns all over her body. When interrogated over the state of her domestic help, Mrs. David claimed that the victim mistakenly poured hot water on herself that she had boiled to bathe with.


It was also claimed that she raised her voice when the presiding pastor of the church insisted on knowing the truth.


 




The suspect was eventually exposed when she forced her maid to drink the hot water mixed with pepper, leaving her with burns on her lips, shoulders, and on her back.


Afraid that the girl may die or develop an infection, the suspect is said to have taken the girl to a nearby chemist who advised her to take the girl to a hospital.

 

When she refused, the chemist raised alarm on Sunday, exposing the suspect.

Heartbreaking: Three schoolboys drowned while swimming with friends in Enugu (photos)."

   A 12-year-old boy, identified as Lekan Benjamin drowned at the Asa River in Ilorin, Kwara state while swimming with his friends.  It was gathered that Lekan a Junior Secondary School student went swimming with some of his classmates while returning from school, when he drowned. The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Falade Olumuyiwa who confirmed the incident in a statement described the incident as unfortunate. He noted that at about 13:21hrs on Tuesday,, the State Fire Service attended to the scene, at Ejiba Road, off Stadium road, Ilorin. The victim was however recovered dead from the river by the firemen and handed over to his biological father, Mr Monday Benjamin. Olumuyiwa (CFO) consoled the family of the victim and advised parents to watch over their children’s movement in order to prevent future similar occurrences
